Capehart Park Basketball Court Canopy

APD Construction partnered with Orange County Government to enhance Capehart Park by constructing a pre-engineered metal building over the existing basketball court, creating a weather-protected recreational space for year-round use. The project began with selective demolition and continued with the construction of reinforced concrete foundations and elevated pedestals to support structural steel columns, reaching a final height of approximately 18 feet.

The structure featured metal beams, purlins, and a durable metal roofing system, all finished with a protective epoxy coating for long-term resilience. A comprehensive drainage system was also installed to manage stormwater runoff and protect the surrounding preserve area. The project was completed with a new reinforced concrete slab, professionally painted court lines, and the installation of basketball backboards and hoops, delivering a fully upgraded and community-focused amenity.
